The heat exchanger has an injection pipe (4) with passage openings (9`) via which a cooling medium is distributed to a partial region of the exchanger. Units forming a heat transmitting surface are directly or indirectly connected with the pipe via the passage openings. A free flow cross section of the passage openings in a fluid guiding direction to the heat transmitting surface satisfies a specific condition. A suction pipe has an inner diameter between 4.5 millimeter and 6.0 millimeter.
