The fastener comprises a holder (1) for a telescopic arm (2), a first mounting part (11) for the holder which is rotatably connected to a first axle on the latter and a second mounting part (12) for the arm which is rotatably connected to a second axle on the latter. At least one of the mounting parts contains bores (22) for receiving fasteners and upon assembly these bores lie outside a region defined by the central axes for these axles, when viewed in the bore length direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for fitting the fastener by securing the mounting parts to a window and window frame, at least one part which has one end pivotally connected to the fastener arm being fitted last of all.
