An active matrix organic light emitting diode and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve deposition stability of an organic light emitting layer by deposing the organic light emitting layer on a metal layer. An active matrix organic light emitting diode includes a transparent substrate(10), a transistor, a first transparent electrode(51), a metal layer(53), an organic light emitting layer(61), and a cathode electrode. The transistor has source/drain electrodes formed on the transparent substrate(10). The first transparent electrode(51) for an anode electrode is electrically connected to the drain electrode. The metal layer(53) is formed on the first transparent electrode(51), and lowers a surface roughness of the first transparent electrode. The organic light emitting layer(61) is formed on the metal layer(53). The cathode electrode is formed on the organic light emitting layer(61). |
