SULFATED POLYSACCHARIDES FRACTION HAVING BINDING ABILITY FOR DEOXYCHOLATE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

A sulfated polysaccharide fraction having binding ability for deoxycholate as a secondary bile acid salt and a preparation method thereof are provided to increase solid extraction yield of brown seaweed by enzyme hydrolysis, and adsorb deoxycholate, so that it is useful for treatment of disease caused by cholesterol accumulation. The method for preparing the sulfated polysaccharide fraction having average molecular weight of 120,000 dalton and binding ability for deoxycholate as a secondary bile acid salt comprises the steps of: (a) decomposing brown algae, especially brown seaweed with a polysaccharide-decomposing enzyme; (b) removing alginic acid from the decomposed product of step(a); and (c) purifying the alginic acid-removed decomposed product with chromatography.
