A method and a system for providing a hierarchical dialing service using multi-string input in a mobile terminal are provided to conveniently execute dialing without the necessity of storing or memorizing phone numbers by inputting an easily associable multi-string and to increase work efficiency by getting in touch between departments through multi-string input in a company. An SMSC(Short Message Service Center), receiving a short message an BS(Base Station) and an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) from a calling mobile terminal, extracts a destination number from the received message, confirms an identifier from the destination number, and sends a call forwarding number request message to an SCP(Service Control Point)(S302-S310). Based on the call forwarding number request message, the SCP searches a multi-string DB for a multi-string corresponding to a conversion number contained in the destination number and analyzes the searched multi-string(S312). Then the SCP disassembles the multi-string into a plurality of strings using the tokens contained in the multi-string(S314). The SCP checks the strings of the multi-string through the multi-string DB step by step(S316). The SCP obtains a call forwarding number corresponding to the finally searched string from a call forwarding number DB and transmits the obtained number to the SMSC(S320).
