An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to minimize the difference of gate-drain parasitic capacitance, thereby preventing the ununiformity of illumination and improving the display quality. A gate line(41) is formed on an insulating substrate, wherein the gate line includes a protruding portion(41a) and a segment. The segment of the gate line is protruded from one lateral of the gate line to form an indent portion(41b) facing the protruding portion. An active layer(43) is formed above the segment of the gate line. A pixel electrode(48) is formed in a protruding direction of the segment. A source line(44) is extended over an end portion of the active layer while the source line crosses the overlapping region of the active layer and the gate line. A drain line(46) is connected to the pixel electrode. The drain line is extended in parallel with the source line across the overlapping region of the active layer and the gate line. |
