A digital broadcasting terminal and a method for providing channel information are provided to efficiently supply a user with channel information having limitation in display due to a small display part of the broadcasting terminal. A broadcast reception part(10) receives digital broadcasting channel information. A contents information extraction part(20) extracts contents information included in the digital broadcasting channel information. A entity group binarization part(30) binarizes information determined as an entity in the contents information. A memory part(40) stores the entity information of contents requested by a user. A control part(50) determines whether the entity information stored in the memory part and an initially selected entity are proper to a request of the user, and repeatedly executes a genetic algorithm according to a result of the determination in order to extract proper channel information. A display part displays the extracted channel information.
