An input device for a portable electronic device is provided to input various and precise operations to the portable electronic device such as a mobile terminal without wrong operation by generating an input signal from capacitance change according to a level of touch pressure. A plurality of first electrode plates(20) are placed to a position corresponding to each input key(61) on a substrate(10). Thickness of an elastic layer(30) covered on the first electronic plates is elastically changed by the touch pressure. The second electrode plate(40) is printed and arranged in a plate shape covering all first electrode plates at a distance corresponding to the elastic layer. As the capacitance change is generated by the change of the distance according to the touch pressure at an overlapped position of the first and second electrode plates, in which overlapped points is a sensing point. The input signal is generated according to the position of the sensing point and the level of the touch pressure by sensing the capacitance at the sensing points, and is transmitted to a CPU of the portable electronic device.
