A reaction control system of a steer-by-wire system is provided to generate composite reaction forces on a steer-by-wire system using a reaction motor and a passive damper and to bring a passive damper under damping compensation control. The reaction control system of a steer-by-wire system using the damping compensation control of a passive damper comprises a vehicle steering wheel(2), a reaction motor(6) operated to supply reaction torque by the steering of the steering wheel, a passive damper(8) connected between a steering shaft(10) of the steering wheel and a fixed frame(12) of the steering shaft to have the damping function with reaction force supplied by the reaction motor, and a controller(20) controlling the operation of the reaction motor and the passive damper according to the operation of the steering wheel.
