An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent touch defect, gravity defect, and press defect due to misalignment between a first substrate and a second substrate during a bonding process, by forming compensation patterns in the periphery of a column spacer. A first substrate and a second substrate are disposed to face each other. A first column spacer(210) and a second column spacer(220) are formed on predetermined regions of the second substrate. A protrusion(110) is formed on the first substrate correspondingly to the first column spacer. Compensation patterns(140b,140d) are formed on the first substrate correspondingly to the periphery of the second column spacer. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. |
