A back-warning system using a car audio is provided to enable a driver to safely drive in reverse driving by recognizing a distance with an obstacle in a backward. A reverse gear detector(225) detects a transmission, which a gear changes from a driving or a neutral position to a reverse position. An obstacle detection unit(230), which is installed at a rear portion of a vehicle, detects an existence of an obstacle. An alarm signal generator(250) generates a guidance voice or an image signal in order to guide backward conditions of the vehicle. A switch unit(260) switches an A/V(Audio/Video) generating module and the alarm signal generator. A controller(210) controls the switching unit for connecting an A/V signal processor and the alarm signal generator in reverse driving, receives an obstacle detection signal from the obstacle detection unit, calculates a distance between the vehicle and the obstacle, and controls the alarm signal generator so as to output the guidance voice or the image signal, which corresponds the position of the obstacle and the calculated position, to the A/V signal processor.
