A device and a method for displaying multimedia data, and a recording medium storing the same are provided to diversify utilization of an MPV format by suggesting an element for new multimedia data and a schema for variously displaying the MPV format multimedia data to a user. A display part(110) selectively provides the first display mode displaying one selected multimedia data among a plurality of MPV format multimedia data classified by the user and the second display mode sequentially transiting the classified MPV format multimedia data. A user input part(130) selects the display mode. A controller(120) transfers the display mode corresponding to control information inputted from the user input part to the display part. If the first display mode is selected, a function for zooming in/out or rotating display image data is provided. If the second display mode is selected, the function for sequentially transiting the plurality of multimedia data according to data transition time and data display time selected by the user is provided.
