A method and device for providing a summary for a system process are provided to receive operation data from an industrial system and display the summary for the industrial system. A block object(21) receives input data(5) describing at least one process, and groups at least one variable(3) and attribute of the input data as a block(26). A display client(22) reads the block and generates output(14) for displaying the summary for at least one process. The input data includes at least one of history data, prediction data, improvement data, calculation data, inference data, reference data, real-time data, outline real-time data, data collected by a system sensor(4), operation data(1), manual input data, and projection data. The attribute includes at least one a member name, a type, a display change state, and visibility selection.
