SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING THE PERFORMANCE ENVIRONMENT JAVA APPLICATION

A system and a method for managing an environment for performing a Java application are provided to modify the environment of a device to the environment for executing the Java application by determining whether the desired Java application supports a JVM(Java Virtual Machine) of the device before download and downloading a package supporting the desired Java application. A storing part(220) stores JSR(Java Specification Request) information of the JVM supported by the device. A controller(210) compares the information of the desired Java application with the JSR information. If the JVM supports the desired Java application, the controller executes the Java application. The controller obtains the JSR information from a manifest file including the information of the Java application. If the JVM does not support the desired Java application, the controller executes the desired Java application by downloading and installing the package supporting the desired Java application.
