An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to easily repair the products with defects during the manufacturing process, thereby increasing the yield. Gate lines(101a,101b) and data lines(103a,103b) are crossly arrayed on a substrate and define unit pixel areas. TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) include gate electrodes, active layers and source and drain electrodes and are formed by unit pixel areas extracted from the gate lines along the data lines. Pixel electrodes(105a,105b) are electrically contacted with the TFTs and overlapped with the gate lines. The pixel electrodes are crossed vertically with the gate lines from the upper portion of the adjacent unit pixel areas and formed on the unit pixel areas and have the structures separated from the unit pixel areas. The pixel electrodes form the subsidiary capacitance by the gate lines of the unit pixel areas. |
