An image processing method, an image processing apparatus, a display device, and a program are provided to stably detect a motion vector with sufficiently high accuracy through the reasonable number of computing operations. A frame is divided into a plurality of blocks, the image of each block is compared to an image included in a search range of a neighboring frame, and a motion vector of the block is detected based on the comparison result. An interpolated image is generated using the detected motion vector. In the operation of detecting the motion vector, a first process with a wide search range and a second process with a narrow search range are selected for each block. For a block for which the second process is selected, the search range is specified based on a previously detected motion vector of a block adjacent to the block for which the second process is selected. |
