A shaft cooling device and a shaft cooling method of a building are provided to cool down a shaft effectively and to reduce the damage caused by stack effect in a high-rise building by opening the upper and lower parts of a shaft appropriately according to pressure difference and temperature difference between the inside of a shaft and the outside of a building. The invention relates to a device and a method for reducing the stack effect in a high-rise building. The shaft cooling device of a building contains a differential pressure sensor(4) and a temperature sensor(6) installed to the inside of an elevator shaft(2) of a building(100) and the outside of a building respectively to measure the differential pressure and temperature difference between the inside of a shaft and the outside of a building, upper and lower ducts(8,10) connected to the upper and lower parts of the shaft to make the outside air flow in or out, electromotive dampers(12,14) installed to the inside of the ducts respectively to control the volume of a wind flowing in the shaft, and a controller operating the electromotive dampers respectively if the differential pressure or temperature difference between the inside of the shaft and the outside air exceeds the appointed range by receiving the differential pressure and temperature data measured in the differential pressure sensor and the temperature sensor to make the outside air flow in or out from the shaft. |
