APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PACKET MANAGEMENT TO SUPPORT REALTIME FEATURE AT KERNEL

A device and a method for processing a packet to support real-time feature in a kernel are provided to process and manage the packet transceived in the kernel to satisfy the real-time feature by assigning the real-time feature to a network processing module to support real-time responsiveness to a task. A reception packet buffer(360) sequentially stores the received packet(371) in the kernel. A transmission packet buffer sequentially stores the packet to be transmitted in the kernel. If the packet to be used by the real-time task(380) of an application layer is transferred to the kernel, a real-time network manager(350) stores the transferred packet to the top of the reception packet buffer to process the transferred packet in advance of other packets stored in the reception pack buffer. If the packet to be transmitted by the real-time task is transferred to the kernel, the real-time network manager stores the transferred packet to the top of the transmission packet buffer to process the transferred packet in the advance of other packets stored in the transmission packet buffer.
