PURPOSE: An STM-4 level POS(Packet Over SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy)) system having an ATM interworking function is provided to easily apply to a high-capacity system environment by utilizing a high-speed ATM switch structure with the QoS(Quality of Service) of an ATM level and a bandwidth management function. CONSTITUTION: An STM-4 level POS system has an optical interface function with the external through a single mode fiber using an optical transceiver(100). A CDR(Clock and Data Recovery)(200) regenerates a clock from received optical data, recovers the clock into suitable data, and sends the recovered data to an SDH POS framer(300). The SDH POS framer(300) executing a line terminating function, a path terminating function and a data engine function is connected with an AAS(ATM AA5 SAR)(400) in an enhanced Utopia mode. The AAS(400) segments IP packet data in the form of ATM cells. An ALP4(ATM Layer Processor STM-4 level)(500) attaches routing tags to the ATM cells received from the AAS(400) and accesses an ATM switch through an SFI(Switch Fabric Interface)(600). |
