A safety apparatus of a slide door for a vehicle is provided to prevent a passenger's body from being held in a window when a door is opened at a state of the slide door being opened. A safety apparatus of a slide door for a vehicle includes a glass opening detecting unit(30) installed in the lower side of the slide door(22) to detect the opened state of the slide door, a slide door fixing device(40) mounted to the central area of the slide door to prevent the slide door from moving, and a cable to connect the glass opening detecting unit to the slide door fixing device. The glass opening detecting unit includes a base, a slider installed to slide on the base, a spring installed at a side of the slider to make the slider normally direct upward, a first link mounted to the slider, and a crank rotatably installed to receive the first link. The crank is coupled with a pin provided to the base to allow the crank to rotate, and a sliding head and a body of the cable is mounted to the crank and the base, respectively. The slide door fixing device includes rails installed in the slide door, a second slider installed to the rails, a stopper, and a cam installed to the lower end of the stopper.
