A cold start system of a diesel engine and a control method thereof are provided to prevent misfire and the generation of white smoke by promoting evaporation and burning of liquid diesel fuel in a combustion chamber. A cold start system of a diesel engine, includes a fuel heating unit for heating diesel fuel; a fuel supply unit for supplying fuel to the fuel heating unit; an evaporated fuel supply unit for making fuel heated and evaporated by the fuel heating unit flow into an intake manifold(10); a water temperature detecting unit for detecting the temperature of coolant; and an engine controller(30) for reading the temperature of the coolant when engine-on is required, and performing control operation for supplying evaporated fuel into a combustion chamber when an engine cold start condition is satisfied. |
