<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute idle stabilization correction of an internal combustion engine without risk of stalling the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: An engine ECU sets time constant τ corresponding to elapsed time t to a value smaller than time constant τc after time tc (S310), and calculates idle stabilization reference Nref according to the equation of Nref=previous Nref+(Ne-previous Nref)/τ (S320). Until the time tc is reached or until idle stabilization correction is started, steps 300-330 are repeated. According to this, the idle stabilization reference Nref rapidly gets close to rotating speed Ne of an engine 22. When the time tc is reached a difference ΔN is calculated by subtracting the idle stabilization reference Nref from the rotating speed Ne of the engine 22 (S340), an ignition timing correction quantity (a) corresponding to the difference Δ N (S350) is determined, and the ignition timing is corrected based on the ignition timing correction quantity (a) (S360). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
