PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a proper pixel level value to an interpolation target pixel lost in an image read by scanning a plurality of parallel pixel reading elements, and to achieve easy and high-speed processing. SOLUTION: A pixel level value group acquisition means acquires pixel level values of a prescribed number of pixels present on both sides of the interpolation target pixel, a pixel level prediction calculation means calculates a pixel level prediction value on each the side by use of a pixel level prediction expression, and a weighting value calculation means calculates a weighting value of each the side by use of a weighting calculation expression. An interpolation target pixel level value calculation means calculates the pixel level value of the interpolation target pixel by use of an interpolation target pixel level calculation expression wherein the pixel level prediction value is multiplied by the weighting value.
