PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of simplifying a driver's operation, and thus improving the safety of vehicle traffic as a whole. SOLUTION: The driving support device for attaining information exchange between a driver of an own vehicle and a driver of the other vehicle using inter-vehicle communication comprises a determination means determining whether the relation of the own vehicle with the other vehicle around the own vehicle corresponds to one of a plurality of predetermined relations for which a message is transmitted from the own vehicle to the other vehicle or not; an information presentation means presenting, when the relation of the own vehicle with the other vehicle is determined to correspond to one of the plurality of predetermined relations, transmission message candidates to the own vehicle driver according to the relation of the own vehicle with the other vehicle; a user input means accepting the input of the selection of a transmitting message selected by the own vehicle driver from the transmitting message candidates; and a transmitting means transmitting the message selected by the own vehicle driver to the other vehicle.
