PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic adjustment of reducing the differences of luminance and chromaticity between projection type display devices when constituting a multi-screen display device by combining the projection type display devices having different display characteristics. SOLUTION: A master projection type display device 2m and a slave projection type display device 2s respectively have memories 11m and 11s for storing luminance/chromaticity data obtained by colorimetry when manufacturing, and the master device 2m obtains the luminance/chromaticity data DSTs of the slave device 2s from a communication cable 16, and arithmetically calculates the target luminance/chromaticity value Ct of the multi-screen display device 1. The target luminance/chromaticity value Ct is supplied to the slave device 2s through the communication cable 16. In the respective projection type display devices 2m and 2s, luminance/chromaticity correction factors CCGm and CCGs for the target luminance/chromaticity value Ct are arithmetically calculated to correct video signals DVSm and DVSs from the outside, whereby a multi-screen is adjusted to have the target luminance and chromaticity value.
