摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing structure for a propeller shaft capable of stabilizing breaking load of a projection part by preventing chip, crack of and damage to the projection part. SOLUTION: When an inner ring part 42 of a tripod 24 is contacted with the projection part 50, since an outer diameter of the projection part 50 is smaller than a diameter of an inclined outer end of the inner ring part 42 of the tripod 24, the inner ring part 42 is brought into contact with the projection part 50. Since the inner ring part 42 is inclined in an axial direction, the inner ring part 42 is brought into contact with the projection part 50 at not a surface but a point (line). When the inner ring part 42 is brought into contact with the projection part 50 at the point, the concentration of stress is generated at the point of contact of the projection part 50, it exceeds the breaking load of the projection part at the stress concentration portion by slight impact force and it is easily broken (plastically deformed). Therefore, the projection part 50 can be easily broken and even if dimension error of the projection part 50 is generated, the load for breaking the projection part 50 can be made to an approximately constant degree.
