PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stabilization of nickel-based alloys which can withstand high temperature uses. SOLUTION: In the heat treatment according to this invention, powder metallurgical (PM) alloy "A" forgings are solution-treated at 2,030°F for two hours followed by an oil quench. The forgings are then stabilized at 1,800°F for one hour followed by fan air cooling (FAC) for four hours. The forgings are then aged at 1,350°F for eight hours followed by FAC. Particularly, instead of the prior art stabilization (1,500°F for 4 hours), by performing the same at 1,800°F for one hour, its creep properties are improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
