PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of wrinkles on an ink sheet resulting from the strong rubbing between the ink sheet and a release plate when the ink sheet is rewound, and to suppress the deterioration of a printing quality resulting from the generation of wrinkles on the ink sheet. SOLUTION: This printer is equipped with a means which regularly and reversely rotates each of a take-up core 16 on the take-up side for taking up an ink sheet 1, and a feeding core 12 on the feeding side for feeding the ink sheet 1, and has a function for rewinding the ink sheet 1 to the feeding side. In the printer, respective rotation amounts of the take-up core 16 on the take-up side and the feeding core 12 on the feeding side are controlled, and a rewinding process is performed while forming slack on the ink sheet 1. In the rewinding process of the ink sheet 1, the generation of wrinkles by the sliding between the ink sheet 1 and the release plate 17 is deterred. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
