PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifying apparatus and a blood purifying method capable of consistently preventing falling of blood pressure of a patient under treatment in the blood purifying apparatus which carries out first period treatment of pumping out water at an optional speed and a second period treatment of pumping out water so that a blood parameter measured by a first measurement means may be a prescribed value. SOLUTION: The blood purifying apparatus provided with a blood treatment means for purification treatment or pumping out of water, a first measurement means 6 for measuring▵BV (circulation blood amount variation rate) with time, a control means 9 for controlling the speed of pumping out of water and a second measurement means 7 for measuring a patient's pulse or blood pressure with time carries out the first period treatment of pumping out the water at the optional speed and the second period treatment of pumping out the water so that the▵BV may be a prescribed value, and makes the control means 9 shift from the treatment condition of the first period to that of the second period on condition that the measured pulse or blood pressure has reach a prescribed setting value (α).
