Two sprayer units ( 8, 9 ) are arranged along a conveyer ( 3 ). A coating surface of a panel ( 11 ) conveyed by the conveyer ( 3 ) is divided into four coating areas (CAa to CAd). Then, the sprayer units ( 8, 9 ) reciprocate parallel to the conveying direction and coat the individual coating areas (CAa to CAd). At this time, at the boundaries of the coating areas (CAa to CAd), the positions of the turning paths (Ta 0 to Td 0 ) for reciprocation of the sprayer units ( 8, 9 ) are shifted from lo the front side to the rear side in the conveying direction and step-like coating trajectories (Ta to Td) are formed. As a result, the size of the area coated by each of the sprayer units ( 8, 9 ) can be expanded.
