<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple individual identification system of which the misappropriation by others is impossible. <P>SOLUTION: The biological structural image information of individuals is registered in a database corresponding to their items of individual information (names, ID numbers, magnetic cards, etc.). This individual identification system is provided with a light source to irradiate the palm of their hands with light, a light filter for filtering the transmissive or reflective light irradiating the palm of the hand, an imaging apparatus for imaging the filtered transmissive or reflective light.
