<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device capable of securely detecting, without increasing the number of sensors or wires, a state in which with a cover 71 completely closed, the connection of the sheet processing device 1 to an apparatus body 300A is completed. <P>SOLUTION: With three arms 92a, 92b, and 92c of different rotational phases kept fixed, a flag 92 is rotatably supported. In addition, with the arm 92a restricted vertically, the flag 92 is pressed to the left by a spring, not shown. When the cover 71 is closed, a projecting part 71a presses the arm 92a from above, thereby rotating the flag 92 to the right such that the arm 92b moves to the height where the arm 92b strikes against the projection member 3a of a hold member 3 on the device main body 300A side. By moving the sheet processing device 1 toward the apparatus main body 300A side in this state, the arm 92a turns on a sensor 90.
