PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video editing system in which large capacity of contents are shared among a plurality of editing machines, and are speedily edited while reducing the burden of a terminal for editing or a network. SOLUTION: A server device (editing apparatus) which edits video contents and a terminal 10 operated by a user are connected via a network 20 and a storage device 31 for storing video contents to be edited is connected to the server device 30. The server device 30 reads video contents for editing from the storage device 31, creates differential information of an editing picture and transmits it to the terminal 10. The terminal 10 generates the editing picture based on the differential information and transmits information of operation due to the user to the server device 30.
