PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device capable of stabilizing the floating height of a magnetic function part by stabilizing the floating posture of a slider even when there is a change in air density of a use environment in a magnetic head device that becomes a floating posture by air flow formed on the surface of the recording medium when the recording medium is moved. SOLUTION: First and second front positive pressure surfaces 21a and 21b, a backward positive pressure surface 22, first and second backward side part positive pressure surfaces 25a and 25b, first negative pressure generating parts 51a and 51b and second negative pressure generating parts 53a and 53b are formed at an opposite side from the recording medium of the slider of the magnetic head device. The first negative pressure generating parts 51a and 51b are located near the middle point of the slider 10 or at its backward part, and the second negative pressure generating parts 53a and 53b are located more backward. Balance between floating force acting at each positive pressure surface and suction force acting at each negative pressure generating part located backward can prevent a change in a floating posture and a drop in floating distance when the air density drops.
