PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for cleaning a snout in the hot-dip plating capable of efficiently discharging oxide films and dross-like skims generated on a liquid level in the snout in the hot-dip plating without depending on any manufacturing condition, and reducing the effect on products. SOLUTION: A pair of discharge nozzles are provided close to an inner surface of a wall of a snout so that a radial liquid flow is generated on a liquid level in the snout opposite to a face side and a back side of a center part in the width direction of a steel strip, and a discharge pump is provided thereon via a discharge conduit. A pair of suction nozzle are provided in the liquid level in the snout close to the inner surface of the snout wall on the extension of both ends in the width direction of the steel strip, and a suction pump is provided thereon via a suction conduit. The pumps are operated to feed a molten metal in the snout from the discharge nozzles. The radial liquid flow is ejected toward the face side and the back side of the center part in the width direction of the steel strip, and the liquid flow collided with the steel strip is divided into both end sides from the center part in the width direction, and the molten metal and the dross are sucked from the suction nozzles and guided outside the snout.
