PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new lightweight composite of high rigidity useful for furniture including sliding door, folding screen and indoor partition, luncheon mat, coaster, mobile phone case, laptop personal computer's casing, etc. SOLUTION: The new composite is obtained by coating or impregnating a high-strength fiber fabric with Japanese lacquer followed by hardening the Japanese lacquer.
