PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition having both improved low fuel consumption properties and adhesiveness and to provide a tire using the same. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for coating a carcass cord comprises silica in an amount of 30-100 pts.wt. and carbon black in an amount of 5-35 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component. Furthermore, the rubber component contains≥50 wt.% of natural rubber and/or isoprene rubber and≤50 wt.% of a styrene-butadiene rubber prepared by solution polymerization. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
