PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide redispersible synthetic resin emulsion powder having excellent redispersibility and excellent film-forming properties even when redispersed and affording high water resistance of the resultant film and to provide an admixture for hydraulic materials composed of the emulsion powder for obtaining the hydraulic materials having excellent dispersibility in the hydraulic materials and higher strength and higher water resistance. SOLUTION: The redispersible synthetic resin emulsion powder is obtained as follows. An emulsion (A) comprising a vinyl alcohol polymer containing 1-12 mol% of an ethylene unit in the molecule as a dispersing agent and a polymer having at least one kind of unsaturated monomer unit selected from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a diene monomer as a dispersoid is compounded with a vinyl alcohol polymer (B) containing≥1.9 mol% of 1,2-glycol bonds.
