PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which improves the storage stability of 3,3,3-trifluoropropionaldehyde useful as an intermediate of a medicine/an agrichemical and as a raw material for production or an intermediate for synthesis of a functional material and enables the aldehyde to be stored and circulated as an industrial raw material. SOLUTION: The method can spectacularly improve the storage stability of highly useful 3,3,3-trifluoropropionaldehyde by an operation of adding water to 3,3,3-trifluoropropionaldehyde. The 3,3,3-trifluoropropionaldehyde can be recovered by distillation, i.e. an easy method, and can be kept at high purity of 98% or higher for a long term. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
