PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer bearing member which can suppress periodic lateral black stripes and the generation of the periodic lateral black stripes although the developer bearing member has iris-shaped grooves on its surface. SOLUTION: The developer bearing member 26 which has the iris-shaped grooves formed so that a plurality of grooves extending obliquely to a rotational thrust direction and a plurality of grooves extending in an oblique direction opposite to the thrust direction cross each other has the iris-shaped grooves formed so that groove intersections which are adjacent to each other in the thrust direction shift peripherally in position.
