摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device capable of detecting the saturation state of pixel potential without increasing the number of elements mounted to each pixel. SOLUTION: In the solid-state image pickup device, one pixel is composed by including a photodiode PD1, a transistor PM1 for amplification for amplifying the pixel potential that is the terminal voltage of the photodiode, a reset transistor NM0 for resetting the pixel potential, and a selection transistor PM2 for outputting the output of the transistor for amplification to a row signal read line SP by a horizontal selection signal, and there is a function for monitoring the pixel potential in exposure. In this case, the row signal read line and the potential of a power supply line are set so that the row signal read line gradually makes continuity with the power supply line RP to which the transistor for amplification in each pixel, where the output terminal of the selection transistor is connected to the row signal read line, is connected when the pixel potential is changed by the reception of light in the photodiode.
