PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion sheet and a transmission type screen capable of widening viewing angles of both directions of horizontal direction and perpendicular direction and suppressing a deterioration phenomenon of contrast due to external light. SOLUTION: The transmission type screen 10 comprises a total reflection lens 13 and a lenticular lens 14. A plurality of unit lens parts 13b with trapezoidal cross-section which have longitudinal directions in the horizontal direction are formed on the emission surface of the total reflection lens 13 and a resin to which light absorbing particles are added, having a refractive index lower than that of the unit lens parts 13b is filled into grooves between adjacent unit lens parts 13b. A plurality of unit lens parts 14a provided with arcuate outer edges having the longitudinal direction in the perpendicular direction are formed on the incident surface of the lenticular lens 14 and, on the emission surface thereof, a plurality of protrusion parts 14c having the longitudinal direction in the perpendicular direction are formed.
