摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow meter for relaxing deterioration of capacity and occurrence of peaks in instrumental error, caused by repetition of expansion/contraction of passage area in the flow meter, or a large number of straightening plates of a flow straightener, etc. SOLUTION: In the case of a vertical Woltman-type flow meter having an inlet port and an outlet port and having an impeller 15 disposed in a vertical direction relative to the inlet and outlet ports for measuring the flow of the fluid, when the flow of a measured fluid introduced from the inlet port is turned to a direction along the axial direction of the impeller, the fluid is measured by being caused to hit the impeller, the side closer to the impeller relative to an extension of a center line of the inlet port is assumed to be an upper side and the side farther from the impeller to be a lower side, and the cross sectional area of the inlet port is S1 while the cross sectional area of an introduction portion from the lower side relative to the impeller is S2, this instrument is characterized in that S2/S1 is 0.7-1.4 as a change in the cross sectional areas from S1 to S2. These make it possible to increase the capacity of the flow meter and to prevent peaks from being produced in instrumental error, thus contributing to flattening of the instrumental errors.
