PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-sensitivity flow rate meter suitable for a purpose of evaluating a soundness of a water supply piping network of waterworks. SOLUTION: The flow rate meter includes a sensor part 10 for measuring the flow rate of a tap water in a water supply piping of waterworks, a supporting part 14 having a transmission line 25 of a measured signal obtained by the sensor part 10 to the outside, and a transducing part which obtains and calculates the measured signal of the sensor part 10 from the transmission line. The sensor part is inserted into the piping from the opening of a hydrant 2 and an air valve prepared in the middle of the water supply piping 1 and the flow rate of the fluid to be measured is measured. The sensor part 10 has a measuring passage penetrating in parallel to a flow direction of the tap water, a magnetic field generating means consisting of a coil and a magnetic pole mounted on the upper part of the measuring passage, and a pair of magnetic pole plates having a length covering at least a side face of the magnetic field generating means and the measuring passage inside of a case of the sensor part. The transducing part comprises a communication means which communicates with external device, a memory means which stores the operation result of the measured signal from the sensor part and information from the outside device, and performing data logging for a predetermined period.
