PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level sensor which can achieve downsizing, simplification, and cost reduction in its device construction as compared to a conventional one. SOLUTION: The level sensor comprises a rotating shaft 6 which is arranged concentrically with a drive shaft 4a of a motor 4 and is rotatably supported independently of the drive shaft 4a, a blade 8 provided in the rotating shaft 6, a moving member 10 which is mounted movable in the axial direction and irrotatable in the circumferential direction, a biasing member 12 which biases the moving member 10 toward a facing end of the rotating shaft 6 and brings the facing surfaces of the facing end and the moving member 10 into pressing contact with each other, plate cams 13 formed on the both facing surfaces, and detection sections 14, 15 which can detect that the moving member 10 has moved by a predetermined distance against the biasing force by the biasing member 12 by being pushed by the plate cam 13 through the relative rotational difference between the drive shaft 4a and the rotating shaft 6 which occurs when the blade 8, which is rotated by the motor 4 through the moving member 10, the plate cams 13, and the rotating shaft 6, is brought into contact with a fluid which has reached a predetermined level and meets with resistance from the fluid.
