<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device in which viewers of a plurality of video images displayed on screens can view sounds corresponding to the video images without mixing the sounds. <P>SOLUTION: On the basis of program information and display modes of video signals, a control unit 1 determines normal positions of sound images formed from sound signals. On the basis of the normal positions of sound images, a sound signal processing unit 17 then appropriately sets DSP parameters determining processing contents of a first DSP 171a and a second DSP 171b and changes waveforms and phases of sound signals. A left sound signal S1L generated by the first DSP 171a and a left sound signal S2L generated by the second DSP 171b are mixed by a first mixer 172 and outputted to a speaker (left) 18a.
