摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve instability of a servo at the layer switching, which is caused by the overlap of signals of two layers and move a focal point to a proper switching destination, in an information reproducing device using a liquid crystal lens element for a layer selective switching.

SOLUTION: The moving direction of the focal point is determined to stabilize the servo by adding a focus bias corresponding to the layer switching direction during the switching of the liquid crystal lenses, or the objective lens is held during the switching and holding is released synchronously with the rotation after the liquid crystal lens is switched.
