<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a user interface portion capable of securely presenting a function set area desired by a user without deteriorating cognition of a preview image. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image analysis portion 3 for analyzing an original image data and extracting an original characteristic value, a user interface portion 4 for performing setting in regard to process and finish of the original image to the original desired to be printed, a finish image generation portion 5 for generating a finish image representing the result of the process or the finish processing to the original image based on a variety of set functions, a preview image display portion 6 for presenting the finish image generated by the finish image generation portion, and a keyword input portion 8 for inputting a function name.
