<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a user the trouble for confirming whether or not a plurality of originals as a reading target are composed of only the original of the same group. <P>SOLUTION: An original image is generated while reading the original by an image reader (134). Original identification information and page number information are read by a reader/writer from an RFID tag attached to the original read by the image reader (136). When the original identification information read from the RFID tag of the original of one preceding page differs from that of the original currently as the reading target (144), a warning screen is displayed on an operation panel (150).
