<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoder and an image decoder which selectively use an inter-pixel filter in response to various conditions and generate encoding data. <P>SOLUTION: The image encoder 300 is an image encoder which generates encoding image data by encoding a difference between image data Img denoting an input image and predicted image data Pred denoting a predicted image with respect to the input image. The image encoder 300 comprises an image decoding part 104 which encodes the image data Img and then decodes it, inter-pixel filters A303, B304 for carrying out an inter-pixel filter operation with respect to decoding image data Recon obtained by the image decoding part 104, switches 301, 302 for selecting one of the inter-pixel filters, and an inter-picture prediction part 108 which uses filtered decoding image data FilteredImg1 obtained by the selected inter-pixel filter as reference image data Ref and generates predicted image data Pred with respect to the input image data Img. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
